How do I calculate the grade I need on my final exam?
Use the formula: Required = (Target − Current × (1 − Weight/100)) ÷ (Weight/100). Example: current 78%, final worth 30%, target 80% → need 87% on final. Use calculator #1 above.
What if I need more than 100% on my final?
If the calculator shows more than 100%, it means your target grade is no longer achievable with the current final exam weight. Consider adjusting your target.
How do letter grades convert to percentages?
A = 90–100%, B = 80–89%, C = 70–79%, D = 60–69%, F = below 60%. These thresholds vary by school.
How is my final grade calculated?
Final grade = Current grade × (1 − final weight/100) + Final exam score × (final weight/100). Example: 78% current, 85% on final, final worth 30% → 78×0.70 + 85×0.30 = 80.1%.
